The Coven season came to an end today after a loss to the Ottawa Indians in the Women’s Division I Semi-final. It was a well-played game and showed just how far Coven pride can take you. Every player on the field worked hard, dug deep and kept up the intensity right to the final whistle.
Next step: Celebrate! Tuesday evening….stay tuned…
Saturday’s match-up against Barrhaven Scottish resulted in a fantastic 67-22 win for the Coven. Excellent team effort, combined with some specacular individual performances made this one of the best and most entertaining games of the season. Excellent work, Coven!
Now we gear up for Semi-Final Weekend! Bring it on!
It’s time for our biggest, best and most fun fundraiser of the summer! Face-painting downtown on Canada Day. We’ll set up at the entrance to Confederation Park (Elgin & Slater) at 9 a.m. and start painting faces for donations. No need for artistic talent – we have stencils! Come for the day or half a day, whatever you can manage. Don’t forget sunscreen and water. Hope to see everyone there! Friends are always welcome to join in the fun!
In a well-played match on both sides, the Coven battled through second half fatigue to win over the Ottawa Irish II with a bonus point score of 39-25. Excellent effort, Coven!
Don’t know why there’s no sun up in the sky…stormy weather: We practice rain or shine so please head over to the field as usual. If, however, thunder & lightening develop, we will move indoors somewhere where we can grab a bite and continue discussing our tactics for Saturday’s game. See you all tonight!
Our season opener has had to be rescheduled for a date later in the summer. Stay tuned for updates on when it will be played.
So, our first game, and first road-trip of the season will be on June 4 when we travel to Kingston to meet the Panthers. Always a good day out for the Coven!
